Applied Biology Technician in Training Requirements

An Applied Biology Technician in Training (ABT in Training) must work under the supervision of an RPBio or RBTech while they gain the experience and competencies required to apply to be a practicing registrant.

Education and Experience

Experience includes paid and voluntary activities that occurred in the last 10 years.

Natural Resource Survey Skills: Have you taken a course or module in natural resource survey skills? *

For example, this should cover data collection, proper field note taking, common field equipment requirements, use, maintenance and care, quality assurance and data integrity and security.

Applied Biology Identification Skills: Have you taken a course or module in applied biology identification skills? *

For example, a course or module that covers the identification of plants, fish, mammals, birds, or insects and the differences between groups (e.g., trees, shrubs, mosses). It may also include the collection, labeling and preservation of a specimen.
