Credentialing Standard changes in effect as of June 1, 2026

The College Board has approved revisions to the Credentialing Standard. The changes have been implemented as of June 1, 2026. Overall, the revisions are intended to:

1. Increase flexibility in academic requirements by removing unnecessary barriers to becoming a professional, while maintaining appropriate rigour to protect the public interest and ensure academic subject areas remain relevant to current practice
2. Ensure that applicants who qualify under the Standard in effect prior to June 1, 2026 continue to qualify
3. Improve the efficiency of the application process by reducing the number of professional work products required for applicants to demonstrate their competency
